Presenter: Karen Briner-Peterson
Karen Briner-Peterson is the Director of Human Resources and Records Management Officer for
Jamestown City School District. Ms. Briner Peterson has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in City Planning andPolitical Science from the University of Arizona and a Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University Pettit
School of Law. She is currently a member of the New York State Archives Region 8 Regional Advisory
Committee and the Local Government Records Advisory Council for New York State Archives. Ms. Briner
Peterson is also an adjunct professor at SUNY Fredonia.
Organizations are continuing to find themselves under pressure to continue to reduce
the costs associated with managing the records and Information held by the
organization. One way of accomplishing this feat is to utilize a Cloud Computing
solution for some or all of the records and information held by an organization. The
presentation will cover how Jamestown City School District has implemented a shared
cloud computing solution with three other school districts in Chautauqua County to
improve the management of the records held by the districts while reducing the costs
associated with those management efforts.
